The cool-looking flower, the forest fairy, Rengeshouma, blooming on the forest floor of Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden is in full bloom now!
At Rokko Alpine Botanical Garden, operated by Mt. ROKKO CABLE CAR & TOURISM COMPANY (Head office: Nada-ku, Kobe City, President: Kimihiko Teranishi), the Rengeshouma flowers are in full bloom.
Rengeshouma is a perennial plant of the Ranunculaceae family, and is endemic to Japan with only one species in one genus. It is distributed in scattered areas from the southern Tohoku region to the Chubu region, and in the Kinki region, it grows only on the limestone ground of Mt. Omine in Nara Prefecture. The lotus-like flowers are about 3 cm in diameter and bloom downward. The translucent light purple flowers that resemble wax are beautiful, and the flower has many fans, especially among photographers. The sight of the flowers swaying in the sunlight filtering through the forest floor is refreshing. The best time to see Rengeshouma at our garden is expected to be until late August.
