Kazutoshi Nakajima / Kazutoshi NAKAJIMA
Born and resident in Kyoto Prefecture in 1980
2000 Academy of art university San Francisco, USA
Majored in Fine arts and sculpture at "Academy of art university San Francisco" in the United States. After returning to Japan, he built an atelier and home by himself while working as a steel frame and carpenter. Presented sculptures using iron and wood at art festivals and solo exhibitions such as Kizugawa Art and Nakanojo Biennale. With the influence of his uncle and iron writer Nobuo Matsuoka, he founded "HITTITE", a brand that produces full-order ornaments, architectural hardware, and furniture with iron. It also produces housing and commercial facilities and exports its own products. In recent years, he has exhibited independently at the interior show Maison & Objet 2018, 2019 held in Paris, France, and has been selected as a representative company of the "New Export Power Consortium" by the Japan External Trade Organization. Besides, he continues to make contemporary art works in Japan.
