About Mt.Rokko

 At 931m above sea level, Mt.Rokko is situated within the Setonaikai National Park. The commercial development of Mt.Rokko began in 1895, when an English trader, A.H. Groom built a holiday house on top of the mountain. From that point forward, foreign interests in the area took a leading role in the development of Mt.Rokko, building the first golf course in Japan, as well as other recreational and sports facilities.

Mt.Rokko has become a popular summer resort, being 5 to 6 degrees cooler than the near by city of Kobe. Mt. Rokko is also a popular winter resort, it used to provide ice skating and skiing in natural settings. Taking maximum advantage of the climate, Mt.Rokko also has artificial snow slope for skiing in the winter season.

It takes 30mins to arrive at Mt.Rokkofs gateway, gRokko Cable Shita Stationh from the city center of Kobe and it requires an hour to get there from Osaka via public transport. Throughout the year, you can enjoy nature and scenery, the night time views, as well as other activities.
